Web Browser Hacks

Reopen Closed Tabs

Accidentally closed a tab? No worries! Press Ctrl + Shift + T (or Cmd + Shift + T on Mac) to reopen the last closed tab instantly. This trick works multiple times in succession, so you can retrieve several recently closed tabs without hunting through your history.

Too much Cache

Add /?nocache=1 to the end of any URL and cache should be ignored, ensuring you're seeing the most up to date version of the code.

Example: www.coolexample.com/?nocache=1

Zoom In and Out with Ease

Hold Ctrl (or Cmd on Mac) and scroll with your mouse to zoom in and out on a webpage. Alternatively, use Ctrl + to zoom in and Ctrl - to zoom out. This hack is handy for reading small text or viewing details on image-heavy pages.

Use the Spacebar to Scroll

Pressing the Spacebar scrolls the page down by a screenful, making it a quick way to read articles. Shift + Space will scroll back up, letting you easily move through lengthy content without reaching for your mouse or trackpad.

Copy Link to Highlight

Many browsers now offer a feature to create a link to a specific text highlight on a page. This is particularly helpful when you want to share a specific part of a long article.

Right mouse click on the content and select 'Copy link to Highlight'.
